Nakuru County is improving healthcare access for residents of Kuresoi North and South by launching an Integrated Specimen Referral System (ISRS). The new system utilizes trained motorcycle riders to transport medical specimens from local dispensaries and health centers to referral hospitals. Previously, patients faced significant travel burdens to obtain necessary lab results. This initiative aims to reduce delays in diagnosis and treatment, particularly for those in remote areas. The ISRS promises faster turnaround times for lab work and enhanced patient care. County officials state this innovative approach addresses logistical challenges and expands healthcare reach.
