Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi highlighted the success of the 2026 Global Tourism Forum Investment Summit in Luanda, Angola, emphasizing its positive impact on Mozambique’s economic diplomacy and foreign investment attraction. Nyusi described his participation as “extremely positive and productive,” noting the summit reinforced the nation’s strategy to diversify its economy and prioritize tourism. He stressed the importance of reducing reliance on specific revenue streams and fostering job creation, particularly for youth and women, through tourism development. Mozambique’s vast natural and cultural resources, including its coastline and national parks, were presented as key assets for growth in the sector. The President noted a growing consensus among African nations and international partners regarding the need for increased tourism investment to enhance the continent’s global competitiveness. Nyusi also acknowledged Angola’s experience in diversifying its economy away from oil, citing investments in agriculture, tourism, and logistics as a model. Meetings with investors and international institutions were held alongside the summit to further these goals.
