Mozambique’s National Institute of Cultural and Creative Industries (INICC) is proposing a new legal framework to bolster the management of copyright and related rights. This regime aims to enhance the legitimacy, transparency, and efficiency of organizations representing Mozambican creators. The proposal seeks to address existing gaps in the legal system and provide better protections for intellectual property. By establishing clear guidelines for collective management entities, the INICC hopes to improve the defense of creators’ interests. This initiative is a step towards fostering a more vibrant and sustainable creative industry in Mozambique. The new framework is expected to provide a more secure environment for artists and encourage investment in creative endeavors.
