Mozambique’s National Institute of Cultural and Creative Industries (INICC) and the KILTIR Project have agreed to strengthen collaboration to foster the growth of the country’s cultural and creative sectors. The commitment was made during a meeting between INICC Director-General Roberto Dove and KILTIR Project Coordinator Astrid Audibert, coinciding with the launch of a regional guide on importing and exporting cultural goods and services in the Indian Ocean region. Discussions focused on bolstering these industries, particularly through KILTIR’s support mechanisms and opportunities for public policy development. Audibert encouraged INICC to leverage KILTIR’s programs, highlighting Mozambique’s potential in areas like copyright, archival preservation, and the promotion of both tangible and intangible cultural heritage. Dove welcomed the visit as a chance to enhance INICC’s role in sector development and showcase ongoing projects, including a national crafts catalog and a cultural mapping initiative. The KILTIR Project aims to provide support and resources to facilitate these advancements.
