Following the death of his son, Serigne Ibrahima Mbacké, spiritual leader Serigne Mountakha Mbacké has issued a message to the Mouride community. Through Serigne Abdou Latif Mbacké, he requested that followers refrain from traveling to Touba to offer condolences, instead encouraging prayer from their local communities. This follows the recent passing of his daughter, Sokhna Mame Amy Mbacké, less than a month prior, after a prolonged illness. The loss represents a period of intense grief for the Mbacké family and the Mouride brotherhood. Serigne Mountakha Mbacké, the eighth khalife général, is the eldest grandson of Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba, the founder of the Mouride order.
