Concerns are growing in Morocco regarding the increasing exposure of children to social media platforms. These platforms are no longer solely used by adults but have become a daily environment for young people, often before they possess the skills to navigate them safely. Social media significantly influences children’s development, self-perception, and understanding of the world from a young age. Consequently, there are increasing calls for legislation to protect Moroccan children from the potential dangers associated with social media use. Several countries have already taken steps to address these risks, prompting discussions in Morocco about similar protective measures. The proposed legislation aims to mitigate the negative impacts and ensure a safer online experience for children.
