Moroccan researcher Khalيد Al-Aouni has recently published a book titled “Identity and Transnational Citizenship: A Sociological Study of Moroccans in Europe,” released by Al-Arabi Publishing and Distribution in Cairo. The work examines the evolving identities of Moroccan migrants and their connection to their homeland, Morocco, amidst the social and cultural changes experienced by migrant generations in Europe. The publication is a revised and developed version of Al-Aouni’s doctoral dissertation, for which he received a doctorate from the Faculty of Arts. The book focuses on the complex relationship between identity and transnational citizenship for Moroccans living abroad. It explores how these individuals navigate their Moroccan heritage while integrating into European societies. Ultimately, the study provides insight into the sociological dynamics shaping the Moroccan diaspora’s sense of belonging and national affiliation. The research was first reported on by Hespress, a Moroccan online newspaper.
