Moroccan police in Agadir and Taroudant have dismantled a network involved in the illegal trafficking of fireworks. The operation, conducted on June 18th, resulted in the seizure of 40,020 units of fireworks and explosive devices. Three individuals are currently in custody, suspected of being involved in the distribution of these smuggled materials. The police action was based on intelligence provided by the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance. Simultaneous security operations were carried out in both cities to apprehend the suspects and confiscate the illicit goods. Authorities are investigating the origin of the fireworks and the extent of the network’s operations, aiming to prevent potential public safety risks associated with unregulated explosives. This bust represents a significant effort to combat the illegal trade of dangerous materials within the country.
