Rashid Talbi Alami, a leading figure in Morocco’s National Rally of Independents (RNI) and Speaker of the House of Representatives, has predicted his party will win the upcoming parliamentary elections. Alami stated this expectation during an interview with Hespress, a Moroccan online newspaper. He did not rule out the possibility of a post-election alliance with the Justice and Development Party (PJD), the Islamist party previously dominant in Moroccan politics. Alami indicated that all potential coalition scenarios remain open depending on the final election results. The RNI, often referred to as “Al Hamama” (the Dove), is positioning itself as a frontrunner in the race. This statement signals a pragmatic approach to forming a government, even with parties holding differing ideologies. The elections are considered crucial for Morocco’s political landscape.
