Remittances sent by Moroccans residing abroad reached 74.78 billion Moroccan dirhams (approximately $7.5 billion USD) by the end of July 2026, an 8.1% increase compared to the 69.17 billion dirhams recorded during the same period last year. This data, released by Morocco’s Foreign Exchange Office, indicates a significant boost in funds flowing into the country from its diaspora. The increase highlights the crucial role these remittances play in the Moroccan economy. Alongside remittances, Morocco’s travel balance also showed a positive trend, registering a surplus of 59.08 billion dirhams, showing yearly growth. The report, part of the office’s monthly publication on foreign exchange indicators, underlines the increasing financial contributions from Moroccans living overseas. These incoming funds are expected to contribute positively to Morocco’s economic stability and growth.
