The city of Demnate, in Morocco’s Azilal province, hosted the inaugural “Trail Demnate” mountain running race on Sunday. The event attracted more than 140 runners from across Morocco, competing in distances of 12 and 26 kilometers. The race took place amidst the region’s scenic landscapes and historical sites. Organized by the Demnate Generations Cycling and Mountain Sports Association, the event aimed to promote sports tourism and showcase the area’s natural beauty. The competition featured both male and female athletes vying for top positions. This marks the first edition of what organizers hope will become a recurring sporting event for the region.
