Mongolia’s Supreme Court dissolved the registrations of eight political parties following a review of their legal compliance. The decision, made during a court session on June 22, 2026, stems from the parties’ failure to update their charters to align with the Law on Political Parties by the December 31, 2025 deadline. The dissolved parties include the Mongolian Liberal Party, the Mongolian Women’s National United Party, the People’s Party, the All-Mongolian Labor Party, the Mongolian Renewal Party, the SHINE Party, the Ethics Party, and the Democracy and Renewal Party. The court stated the ruling will not impede the resolution of property and financial matters related to these parties, which will be governed by existing laws. Separately, the court approved a name change for the Freedom Implementation Party to the Freedom Party and registered corresponding amendments to its charter. This action reflects the court’s ongoing efforts to maintain an updated and legally compliant registry of political organizations in Mongolia.
