The seventh professional sumo tournament concluded on Sunday with significant achievements for Mongolian wrestlers. In the top makuuchi division, Kirishima B. Lkhagvasuren won the championship after a three-way tie with 12 wins and three losses, requiring an additional playoff. Ukrainian wrestler Hakuho secured his third championship by defeating the Mongolian wrestlers. Atami Fuji also performed strongly, vying for the ozeki rank, while Kirishima’s progress is under further review. Several wrestlers received special prizes for outstanding performance, including Fujinokawa for technique, and Atami Fuji, Kotoeisho, and Takayasu for fighting spirit. In the juryo division, Toshinofuji O. Demidjamts, son of the legendary Asashoryu D. Ganbaatar, finished as runner-up. Notably, Asahifuji B. Ochirsaihan dominated the makushita division, winning his fourth consecutive championship, and Tenshooyama G. Otgonbat and Hakugetsuro A. Sukhbat both achieved championships in the sandanme and jonidan divisions respectively, demonstrating the breadth of Mongolian success in the tournament.
