A Mongolian family is fighting to protect their home and property after a construction company allegedly reneged on an agreement. G.Delgersaikhan’s family had their home blocked by a construction fence after agreeing to relocate in exchange for two apartments. The promised apartments have not been delivered, leaving the family in a significantly worse living situation. Their representative, N.Tungalag, claims they are being falsely accused of demanding excessive compensation and are simply defending their rights. The family has pursued legal action, alleging negligence from officials and a disregard for residents’ wellbeing by the construction company. This situation began in 2021 when the company initially offered relocation terms, which the family accepted, only to face hardship upon their return. The case highlights increasing concerns over the rights of residents in ger districts as urbanization grows.
