Mongolian Foreign Minister Battsereg met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to discuss strengthening bilateral relations. Talks covered a broad range of issues, including political cooperation, trade, and economic collaboration, with a goal of reaching $2 billion in trade volume. Both nations agreed to diversify trade structures, focusing on agricultural and livestock exports and establishing import protocols. Discussions also centered on expanding infrastructure and transport logistics, including accelerating border crossing construction, enhancing railway connections, and facilitating the transit of petroleum products. Cooperation on oil sector investment and renewable energy projects was also addressed, alongside support for joint ventures between businesses. Furthermore, the two sides discussed aligning Mongolia’s 2026-2030 development plan with China’s 15th Five-Year Plan, and accelerating projects like the Zamyn-Uud-Ulaanbaatar-Altanbulag expressway and a natural gas pipeline.
