Mongolia’s Ministry of Road and Transport and the Ulaanbaatar Chamber of Commerce have signed an agreement to accelerate the development of the nation’s electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. This collaboration aims to support the implementation of the National Program for Developing EV Charging Infrastructure and foster cooperation between the public and private sectors. The initiative aligns with the government’s broader goals of promoting a green transition, increasing EV adoption, and reducing air and greenhouse gas pollution. The partnership will focus on improving policies, regulations, and the investment climate for EV infrastructure. Plans include phased development of charging stations along major roads and in high-demand areas, adoption of international best practices, and creation of sustainable investment mechanisms. The Chamber of Commerce will mobilize private sector participation, while the Ministry will provide policy support and alignment with national development goals. This agreement represents a significant step towards expanding EV accessibility and accelerating Mongolia’s green transition.
