A new, state-of-the-art pediatric operating theatre has opened at Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital in Mombasa, Kenya. The project is the result of a 50 million Kenyan Shilling partnership between the Mombasa County Government and the international charity Kids Operating Room (KidsOR). This investment aims to significantly improve access to safe and specialized surgical care for children throughout the coastal region. The new theatre will address a critical need, reducing wait times and enhancing the quality of pediatric surgical services available. Officials stated the facility is fully equipped to handle a range of pediatric procedures, benefitting numerous young patients.
