Eight people have died and two were injured in a series of accidents on a Hungarian highway Friday morning. The incidents occurred on the M1 motorway, which connects Budapest to the Austrian border. A minibus carrying nine people collided with a truck that had stopped due to a prior accident. Seven of the fatalities and two of the injured were reportedly Moldovan citizens, traveling in the minibus. Hungarian police confirmed the details, as reported by Reuters. The initial accident caused traffic disruption, leading to the subsequent, more deadly collision. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding both events.
