Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has firmly rejected calls for early elections, responding to pressure from opposition leaders Alexis Tsipras and Nikos Androulakis. He announced plans to introduce a “returnable rent” scheme in November, aiming to address rising housing costs. Furthermore, the government is considering extending the “My Home” housing program to provide further support. Mitsotakis also indicated a focused approach to engage with independent professionals. Acknowledging a scandal involving agricultural subsidies, he admitted shortcomings regarding the OPEKEPE organization, signalling potential accountability measures. The announcements were made ahead of the Thessaloniki International Fair (ΔΕΘ), where further details are expected.
