A fireworks explosion near a church in Mexico has claimed the lives of at least ten people and injured dozens more, including children. The incident occurred Saturday evening during a religious festival in Temascalcingo, located over 150 kilometers northwest of Mexico-Stad, honoring the town’s patron saint. Authorities believe the explosion was triggered by fireworks detonating in a storage area while crowds gathered to watch a fireworks display. The collapse of a wall following the blast hampered rescue efforts. Witnesses described a chaotic scene, with people scrambling to escape the immediate area amid the blast and falling debris. At least 64 individuals received hospital treatment for burns and fractures sustained from the rubble, and several critically injured victims have been transferred to specialized hospitals.
