The Mercury Fountain in the centre of Olomouc has undergone extensive restoration work. As the first of six baroque fountains with an antique theme in Olomouc – all of which are national cultural monuments – it has received a lead tank for its basin. This solution aims to resolve long-term water leaks that have plagued the fountain. Experts chose lead due to its proven effectiveness in similar situations. A comparable method was successfully implemented at the Prague Castle complex. The restoration seeks to preserve this important piece of Olomouc’s heritage for future generations. This repair ensures the fountain’s longevity and continued aesthetic appeal.
