A new survey in Austria reveals significant public support for extending the existing headscarf ban in schools. Currently, girls under 14 are prohibited from wearing headscarves, a regulation implemented in September. However, the survey, conducted by STANDARD, indicates that 69 percent of respondents support a complete ban for all female students. Interestingly, male respondents expressed more skepticism towards such a measure. The ban is currently not enforced in summer schools.
