A significant portion of the D5 highway rest area near Rozvadov, heading from Germany towards Plzeň and Prague, has been closed to traffic. This closure temporarily removes around one hundred parking spaces, primarily impacting truck drivers. The Roads and Motorways Directorate initiated the closure to facilitate extensive renovations and an expansion of the parking facilities. The project aims to increase the number of available parking spaces at the largest rest stop in the Czech Republic. The modernization and enlargement of both sections of the rest area will cost nearly 650 million Czech crowns. These improvements are intended to better accommodate the needs of drivers and improve logistical flow.
