Author Lisa Boda investigated a demographic often dismissed as “kulturtanter” – a term roughly translating to “culture aunts” – to understand who they truly are. These individuals disproportionately populate visitor statistics for Swedish theatres, libraries, and dance performances. The research reveals this group actively engages with culture, both consuming and creating more than other demographics.
