Socialist Left (SV) leader Kirsti Bergstø has cautioned against a tax agreement that excessively favors right-wing parties. Bergstø expressed strong concerns that any such deal would marginalize the left and create difficulties in future budget negotiations with the Labour Party (Ap). Her comments come as the Tax Commission, appointed by Finance Minister Jens Stoltenberg, nears the completion of its work. A member of the Red Party, Astrid Hauge Rambøl, has resigned from the commission, further complicating the process. Bergstø argues the commission’s composition is already biased, as the Progress Party is not represented. She suggests a deal solely with right-leaning parties would lead to “troubled” budget outcomes for the government.
