Latvian Radio 1 is enhancing news accessibility with a new daily broadcast, “Ziņas vieglajā valodā” (“News in simple language”). Airing every evening at 9:00 PM, the five-minute segment presents a digest of the day’s key news stories. The program utilizes simplified language to broaden its reach to a wider audience, including those learning Latvian or with cognitive differences. This initiative aims to ensure everyone can stay informed about current events. By presenting information in an easily understandable format, Latvian Radio demonstrates a commitment to inclusive journalism. The broadcasts focus on delivering essential information concisely and clearly. This new service reinforces the public broadcaster's role in serving all members of Latvian society.
