A landslide in Sankhuwasabha district, Nepal, has forced 28 families from their homes and threatens a local health post. The disaster was compounded by flooding which caused damage to two micro-hydropower plants. Consequently, over 600 households are now without electricity. Authorities are currently assessing the extent of the damage and providing assistance to the displaced families. The landslide highlights the vulnerability of infrastructure in the region to natural disasters, particularly during monsoon season. Concerns are growing regarding access to healthcare with the health post under threat, and restoring power is a priority for local officials. Further rainfall could exacerbate the situation and hinder relief efforts.
