Tourists and boats are once again visiting Lake Urmia following a period of increased water inflow. The lake, located in Iran, has experienced a relative improvement in its water level after months of gains. This positive change allows for the return of recreational activities previously hampered by the lake’s decline. The resurgence of water marks a hopeful sign for the ecological recovery of Lake Urmia, a vital ecosystem in northwestern Iran. Increased inflow is attributed to recent improvements in water management and rainfall patterns. The return of tourism will also provide economic benefits to local communities surrounding Lake Urmia.
