Lahore has been severely impacted by heavy monsoon rains over the past 48 hours, receiving 343 millimeters of rainfall. This has resulted in widespread water accumulation across the city, disrupting daily life and creating significant challenges for commuters. Major roads, intersections, and underpasses are submerged, with some areas reporting up to four feet of standing water. Despite emergency drainage operations by Wasa, many areas remain flooded, forcing the closure of key underpasses like Ghazi and Masjid Chowk, and diverting traffic. The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has warned of further urban flooding with another monsoon spell expected. Low-lying areas and DHA phases have been particularly affected, with water even entering homes in some neighborhoods.
