The Lagos State Government has received a donation of ten new waste compactor trucks from the Lagos State Lottery and Gaming Authority to bolster its waste management capabilities. This contribution aims to strengthen operations across the state and address growing refuse concerns. In May alone, the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) removed 418,500 tonnes of waste. Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, announced the donation, highlighting its importance for maintaining a cleaner environment. The new trucks are expected to significantly improve waste evacuation efficiency. This initiative underscores a collaborative effort to tackle waste management challenges in the densely populated city. The donation represents a commitment to public health and environmental sustainability within Lagos State.
