Said Iqbal, a special advisor to the Indonesian President on labor and worker welfare, has offered a job to Tegar, a victim of alleged captivity at a printing press. The offered position will pay the local Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP), which is Rp5.8 million. This offer comes after reports surfaced regarding the alleged mistreatment and confinement of workers at the printing facility. Iqbal's gesture aims to provide support and economic stability to Tegar following the traumatic experience. Authorities are currently investigating the claims of captivity and potential labor violations. The case has drawn attention to the issue of worker exploitation and the need for stronger enforcement of labor laws in Indonesia. Iqbal hopes this job offer serves as a stepping stone towards Tegar’s recovery and future.
