A Kyrgyz-Czech joint agricultural company, “Ekoter,” is cultivating “Iceberg” lettuce in the Kochkor district of Kyrgyzstan. The company has leased 20 hectares of land within the “Mamasyl tukum” farm. Currently, “Iceberg” lettuce is being grown on 12 hectares, utilizing a modern drip irrigation system. This marks a new development in local agricultural production, focusing on export opportunities. The venture demonstrates a growing collaboration between Kyrgyzstan and the Czech Republic in the agricultural sector. This initiative aims to increase local farming capabilities and begin exporting fresh produce. The “Iceberg” lettuce harvest is expected to contribute to the region’s economy and demonstrates a potential for further agricultural exports from Kyrgyzstan.
