South Korea and France are bolstering their 140-year relationship with a renewed focus on cultural exchange. Several Korean ministries – Culture, Sports and Tourism; Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs; Oceans and Fisheries; and Health and Welfare – are participating in events in Paris from November 16-19. These activities aim to promote Korean culture and products, laying the groundwork for a large-scale “K-Expo” planned for France in 2026. The expo will showcase various facets of Korean culture, often referred to as “K-culture,” and is intended to further strengthen bilateral ties. Discussions are underway regarding collaborative projects and increased cultural cooperation between the two nations. This initiative signifies a strategic effort to leverage cultural influence for diplomatic and economic benefits.
