A $9.8 million (Sh1.3 billion) infrastructure project, KISIP II, is set to improve living conditions for thousands of residents in eleven informal settlements within Kisumu County. The project will focus on upgrading critical infrastructure including roads, local markets, and essential drainage systems. Improvements to solid waste management and street lighting are also planned, aiming to enhance basic services for residents. KISIP II is designed to improve access to fundamental infrastructure and opportunities within these communities. Local residents are being encouraged to actively participate in safeguarding the projects for long-term sustainability.
