The Rose of Tralee International Festival has begun, with Kerry native and former Rose Escort, Daithi Kerry, currently leading the county tally of escorts participating. This year’s escorts are undergoing intensive training, referred to as “bootcamp,” to prepare for their duties throughout the festival. The bootcamp aims to equip the escorts with the skills and confidence needed to accompany the Roses during events. The festival, a celebration of Irish heritage and culture, attracts participants and visitors from around the globe. The selection process for the Rose of Tralee involves judging based on personality, intelligence, and community involvement. The festival continues with further events and the eventual crowning of the Rose of Tralee.
