The Kamau Wairuri Foundation partnered with Mukarara Comprehensive School in Kenya’s Kangema Constituency to address student nutrition through a new orchard. Over 100 fruit tree seedlings were planted on school grounds Monday, aiming to provide a sustainable food source for pupils. The initiative seeks to improve the nutritional intake of students and create a more environmentally friendly learning space. Local community members participated in the planting, fostering a collaborative approach to the project. Organizers hope the orchard will contribute to better student health and academic performance. This project represents a localized effort to tackle food security challenges within the education system. The long-term goal is to expand similar initiatives to other schools in the region.
