Kenya has taken a significant step towards revitalizing its leather industry with the official commissioning of the first warehouse at the Kenya Leather Industrial Park. Located in Kinanie, Athi River, the facility was handed over to the first private investor by Principal Secretary for the State Department for Industry, Dr. Juma Mukhwana. This marks a major milestone in the government’s efforts to promote local leather production and value addition. The park aims to attract both local and international investment, creating jobs and boosting the economy. The project is expected to reduce Kenya's reliance on raw leather exports and encourage the manufacturing of finished leather products. Further development and investment in the park are anticipated, positioning Kenya as a key player in the African leather market.
