Kenya’s Agriculture and Food Authority (AFA) has launched the National Horticulture Traceability System, a digital platform aimed at enhancing the country’s agricultural export trade. The system will digitally track horticultural produce throughout the supply chain, from the farm to the consumer. AFA Chair Cornely Serem stated the initiative is designed to meet stringent international export requirements and build confidence among trading partners. By providing verifiable origin information, the platform aims to improve compliance and facilitate smoother trade processes. The system will allow exporters and importers to confirm the source of produce, addressing concerns about quality and safety. This move is expected to bolster Kenya’s position in the global horticultural market and increase export volumes.
