Kenya’s government has launched a Sh350 billion National Infrastructure Fund aimed at boosting nationwide development. Deputy President Kithure Kindiki announced the fund will act as a catalyst, attracting up to Sh3.5 trillion in additional investment through Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs). The seed capital for the fund is currently held by the Central Bank of Kenya. This initiative intends to accelerate the development of crucial infrastructure projects across the country. By leveraging private sector funding, the government hopes to address infrastructure gaps and stimulate economic growth. The fund represents a significant step towards improving Kenya’s infrastructure and attracting foreign investment. Kindiki emphasized the fund’s role in facilitating progress and modernization.
