The Kenya Union of Post-Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) has praised the Kenyan government’s planned Sh784.5 billion investment in the education sector for the 2026/27 fiscal year. KUPPET Chairman Omboko Milemba, also a Member of Parliament, lauded the significant financial commitment. The allocated funds will be distributed across various levels of education, including teacher salaries, primary and secondary education, universities, and technical and vocational training programs. This increased funding signals a strong governmental focus on strengthening the nation’s education system. Milemba emphasized the positive impact this investment will have on the quality of education and teacher welfare. The budget proposal is currently under review, but KUPPET’s early endorsement highlights its anticipated benefits.
