Lindian Resources of Australia and Carester, a French rare-earth specialist, are collaborating to develop an 8,000-ton-per-year rare-earth oxide separation facility in Stepnogorsk, Kazakhstan. The facility will utilize solvent extraction technology to process critical minerals. A definitive feasibility study, conducted with the support of Tetra Tech Coffey, an Australian engineering firm, is currently underway. The study is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of this year. This project underscores increasing international investment in Kazakhstan’s mineral resources. The new facility aims to enhance the processing capabilities for rare-earth oxides within Kazakhstan. This development highlights the growing global demand for these crucial materials.
