A car crashed into a gathering of mourners outside an imambargah in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority on Sunday night, resulting in one teenage girl’s death and injuries to over a dozen people. The incident occurred during a Muharram majlis at Masjid-o-Imambargah Baqiatullah when a vehicle breached security barriers and entered the congregation area. Sindh province’s government has pledged to cover all medical expenses for those severely injured in the crash, directing payments to Aga Khan Hospital and South City Hospital. The health department has instructed both hospitals to submit bills directly to the government for treatment provided to identified patients. Provincial Health Minister Dr. Azra Pechuho affirmed that all affected individuals, including women and children, will receive comprehensive medical care. Initial police reports suggest the crash may have been caused by brake failure, though investigations are ongoing. The government has emphasized its commitment to providing all necessary medical facilities to protect the injured.
