JICA, in collaboration with the National Agricultural Research Institute (NARI) and government partners, convened the first Joint Coordinating Committee meeting for the Eco-SHEP PNG project on June 11, 2026. The initiative focuses on developing capacity for Sustainable Integrated Farming Systems (SIFS) using the SHEP approach in East New Britain Province. Held at the NARI office in Keravat, the meeting served as a critical coordination point for various stakeholders. Attendees included representatives from the East New Britain Provincial Administration and the Department of Agriculture and Livestock. The Department of National Planning and Monitoring also participated alongside other partner institutions. Together, these entities aim to implement sustainable agricultural practices within the region. The meeting established the foundational framework for the project's execution and oversight.
