Japan boasts one of the world’s highest life expectancies and a remarkable number of supercentenarians – individuals aged 110 or older. While only twelve people in Czech and Czechoslovak history have reached this age, Japan currently has approximately 150. Japanese scientists are now conducting detailed research on this exclusive group, aiming to pinpoint the factors contributing to their exceptional lifespans. The study focuses on understanding what allows these individuals to live so long. Researchers believe the key may lie within the immune system of these supercentenarians. This research could hold valuable insights into extending healthy lifespans globally and combating age-related diseases.
