A Japanese company, Katsuhiko Uhara of Konan Corp, has developed a wearable cooling suit designed to help outdoor workers combat the dangers of extreme heat. The suit, dubbed the “Cool Suit,” incorporates a circulatory system using ice-cold water to regulate body temperature and prevent heatstroke. This innovative approach aims to address the increasing risks faced by laborers in Japan’s sweltering summers, exacerbated by climate change. The suit’s system circulates chilled water through tubes woven into the garment, providing sustained cooling. The company reports the suit keeps wearers’ core body temperature significantly lower than traditional methods.
