In 2011, Yasuo Takamatsu experienced a devastating loss when his wife, Yuko, was swept away by a tsunami in Japan. Her body was never recovered, leaving him with unanswered questions and profound grief. Two years later, Mr. Takamatsu learned to scuba dive, embarking on a deeply personal journey to feel closer to his late wife. He now dives in the waters off Japan approximately twice a month, viewing the ocean as a place to commune with her memory. This practice serves as a poignant expression of his enduring love, remembrance, and continued connection to Yuko. His dives are not about searching, but about being near her, finding solace in the underwater world.
