Japan Airlines (JAL) and All Nippon Airways (ANA) will, for the first time, coordinate their flight schedules. This unprecedented collaboration focuses on flights between Tokyo’s Haneda Airport and Okayama Airport in western Japan. The coordination will begin in late October, aiming to optimize flight offerings on the route. Details of the schedule adjustments haven’t been released but suggest a move towards reducing overlap and potentially increasing efficiency. This represents a significant shift for the two traditionally competitive airlines. The change is expected to benefit passengers travelling between the two cities. It remains to be seen if this coordination will expand to other routes in the future.
