Iringa’s mayor, Ibrahimu Ngwada, is encouraging residents to actively participate in and benefit from the growing tourism sector. He believes tourism holds the key to economic transformation and improved livelihoods within the region. The appeal was made as 50 residents prepared for a two-day domestic tourism tour organized by Iringa Safari Hub. This initiative aims to promote tourism within Tanzania, fostering a greater appreciation for local attractions. Mayor Ngwada emphasized the potential for local businesses and individuals to profit from the influx of tourists. The council hopes this will accelerate overall development in Iringa. This push highlights a strategy to diversify the local economy and leverage the country’s natural assets.
