During a meeting in Islamabad, Iranian Minister Mohammad Atabak co-chaired the Pakistan-Iran Joint Trade Committee, emphasizing the importance of a comprehensive partnership with Pakistan. Discussions centered on progressing negotiations for a free trade agreement, with expectations for successful completion in the near future. Both nations highlighted the trust between their private sectors and committed to creating a more streamlined trading environment. The operationalization of joint border markets was also deemed crucial for improving local livelihoods. The talks, involving high-level delegations from both countries, also addressed strengthening road and rail connectivity to further enhance trade opportunities, building upon existing robust bilateral relations.
