Influencer Mariama Bah, known as “Nourah Ba,” is facing a second prosecution request in Dakar, Senegal. The public prosecutor at the high court of Dakar has opened a judicial investigation against her and assigned the case to the 8th cabinet. The prosecution has requested a warrant for her detention as part of its introductory request. Nourah Ba was brought before the court on Monday and is being prosecuted for allegedly making statements contrary to public morals and insulting people based on their national origin. She is scheduled to appear before the investigating judge this Wednesday for indictment. Following this, the judge will review the prosecution’s requests, including the request for provisional detention. The judge’s decision will determine the next steps in the legal proceedings against the influencer. Currently, the arrest warrant is only a request from the prosecution and not a final decision by the investigating judge.
